Doctrinal Statement

Taken from GHCOC.net

Christ said in St. John chapter 14, “as my father sent me so send I you.” Therefore we believe the Bible which has proven itself to be the living Word of God, and has stood up, with proof; under all the conditions that it has been tried…it hasn’t failed. So for that cause we know from a spiritual and also a natural point of view that the Bible is the living word of God. Paul said in I Timothy 4:16; “take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine; continue in them for in doing this thou shall both save thyself and all them that hear thee.” We, of The Greater Highway Church of Christ family, have continued in the doctrine and will continue until the duration of our lives and the existence of the Church.

We believe the only true way to be baptized is according to the commandment of Jesus himself when he said, “baptizing them in the NAME of the father and of the son and of the Holy Ghost”. (St. Matthew 28:19) The NAME is Jesus. Thank God for the revelation that separates truth from fiction. For the Bible said, that Jesus is the true God and there is no doubt about it; we believe the Bible. ( I John 5:20)

It is a long story, regarding the teachings and the doctrine, but it is a true one. Those of you who need or desire true information, spiritual growth, and true holiness, you are invited to come thou with us and we will do thee good” (Numbers 10:29).

Yours in the Master’s Will,

Imagine... Having a Second Chance at Life

Imagine what it is like to get a second chance at life. How it feels to be guilt free because God forgave you of your sins. It is an awesome feeling to be filled with God's presence and know that you are never alone. These are just some of the benefits of being "Born Again".

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God...that which is born of the flesh is flesh; that which is born of the Spirit is spirit" John 3:3-8

We are all born in the flesh. However, God made provision for us to be born of the spirit. When someone is born of the spirit he is considered a citizen of heaven and a child of God. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of GOD, even to them that believe on his name (JESUS)." John 1:12

We can all agree that this present life has a lot of suffering. However, the Bible promises that when we are the children of God we will have eternal life. Imagine blessed for all eternity!  "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." Romans 8:17

Why Be "Born of The Spirit"?

Being born of the Spirit means that you will be resurrected from the dead to eternal life. "But if the Spirit of him that raise up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Romans 8:11

To be born of "the Spirit" means that one will be filled with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God who dwelt in Jesus Christ. Imagine having the same spirit of Jesus dwelling in you? This Holy Ghost baptism is a POWERFUL encounter with GOD!

The entire Bible gives many examples of Spirit filled men and women of God who performed great miracles and spoke with other tongues (Mark 16, Acts 2, Acts 10). Jesus said "ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you..." (Acts 1:8) We need God's power to overcome our sinful nature.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17 ) When we are baptized in water we put on Christ. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, Christ is in us. Our sinful nature is overcome and God empowers us to live right.

GOD IS STILL POURING OUT HIS HOLY SPIRIT UPON ALL FLESH! "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh." Acts 2:17

How Can Someone Be "Filled With The Holy Spirit"?

Being filled with the Holy Ghost is not something that you can purchase. Only God can fill you with His awesome power and make you a Son of God. Only God can forgive you of your sins and make you into a new creature.

The good news is that the Bible says that "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:9-13

So you need to "save yourselves from this untoward generation" (Acts 2:40) by calling on God. You need to let God know that you want to be saved. You want to have your sins forgiven. You want to be born-again. You want to have God's Spirit in your life. You need to take action by faith and God will fulfill His promises to you.

On the day of Pentecost, the "birth of the Church", the apostle Peter told 3,000 people what they must do to be Born-Again.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, unto your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. " Acts 2:38-39

We Can Help You...

We can help you learn about God's great promises and pray for you to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. If you desire, we have the facilities to correctly baptize you in water, in The Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
